M.S. 180's MOMENTS THAT MATTER

Ms. J. Astor and Mr. Dicker
Present
The Roaring 20s: A Great Gatsby Celebration!

On February 22, Class 803 put on the show of a lifetime! Several lifetimes, actually. As a culmination to their unit on the 1920s, Ms. Jessica Astor's honors team donned period costumes celebrating historical figures of the era: Walt Disney, Amelia Earhart, Babe Ruth, Sacco and Vanzetti, Howard Hughes -- they were all there! (See slideshow). Additionally, Ms. Astor's group had read F. Scott Fitzgerald classic novel of American self-reinvention and unredeemed love, "The Great Gatsby." Students presented themselves as their historical counterparts, addressing an audience consisting of Principal Uzzo and other staff members, in full period costume. It was a moment that we as educators strive to achieve, that wonderful alchemy of fun, personal connection, and memorable learning. Well done, Ms. Astor and Mr. Dicker!

Book Fair: Moments to Remember! Thanks to all of our patrons and loyal fans! We are forever grateful!
